Have a dog in this fight

This phrase is used to describe whether someone has a vested interest in the topic. Someone who is unbiased and has no risk or reward in the outcome of an argument may be described has having "no dog in this fight". Dog-fighting is terrible, of course, and we should avoid normalizing the idea by using it in everyday language.
