Ghetto

Sometimes used to insultingly describe people or things as low-class, low-income, or low-quality / run-down. Historically, ghettos were mandated locations for segregate Jews under the Nazi control during World War II, and the United States it has been associated with poor areas with non-white residents. Using the term casually minimizes real harm done to people in oppressed and/or impoverished communities.
